Our Teaching Method
Learning and Active Teaching Method
The entire Unilogos education system is based on Active Education. Instead of simply presenting problems for new solution proposals, in cases involving subjects, as in the PBL, we will base our education system on the tripod of globalized active education:
Study, Reflection and Production
"The main objective of education is to create people who are able to do new things and not simply repeat
what other generations have done." - Jean Piaget
Based on Piaget we can understand the need to form, now, a mind focused on research, beyond the passive system of study.
The entire study process has 3 bases - Active Methodology
The Student must organize his / her mind in a learning flow that takes him / her out of the “passive” teaching process, assuming the role of his / her intellectual capital construction:
Study is considered the act, the process of studying; application of intelligence to understand something that is unknown or little known.
In this methodology, the student must read the indicated material without the influence of the thought of a teacher or tutor, so that he can successfully go to the 2nd methodological pillar.
It is recommended that the student seeks to develop his self-taught ability by reading diverse opinions on the topic of study.
For that you must use all types of research that is within your reach.
Reflection is considered the action or effect of reflecting, of deviating from the original direction. Meditation, thought or detailed analysis on a subject, on yourself or on a problem or feeling.
Reflection is a fundamental attribute and pillar of this knowledge acquisition process.
Only with reflection do we leave the sphere of readers to the sphere of scholars.
For each proposed theme, after due study, it is necessary to reflect on the opinions and thereby form your own way of understanding and exposing that understanding.
Production can be considered as the way to know-how-to-power science; it is the basis for the development and overcoming of intellectual barriers, the victory of an individual over the dependence of a thought said to be formed, as well as his contribution to the science of countries and regions of the same country; it is the vehicle for improving the quality of life of the inhabitants of a country.
Production is not only what is transferred to paper, but also what is built in itself, as part of the environment where it lives and the being that it is.
This pillar is formed by adding the two previous pillars.
In some courses we will use Active Education using the PBL method, in other cases we work with the production-based methodology with a focus on supervised research.
The entire student evolution process can be published in several scientific journals associated with LUI.
Our teaching method has contributed considerably to the scientific community and demonstrates the formation of a truly critical mind, capable of transferring its thoughts and knowledge to paper, eternalizing and expanding knowledge.
The vast majority of our courses have research seminars and the presentation of papers / lectures with a focus on exposing criticisms and possible solutions to social, humanitarian, scientific and dogmatic problems.
LUI's masters and doctors are prepared to work with a 360º vision, proposing solutions based on the effectiveness and efficiency of their technical-professional processes.
Even having standardized pedagogical projects, our methodology aims to stimulate the protagonism of teaching in a multi and interdisciplinary way.
Educational Intelligence is our goal!
In some courses we have adopted the PBL System
Seven steps for PBL development
1. reading of the problem, identification and clarification of unknown terms;
2. identification of the problems proposed by the utterance;
3. explanatory assumptions for the problems identified in the previous step (students will use this stage of knowledge available on the subject);
4. Summary of assumptions;
5. Formulation of learning objectives (this is the identification of what the student must study to deepen the incomplete knowledge formulated in the explanatory hypotheses);
6. individual Study of the issues raised in the learning objectives;
7. Return to the Group tutorial for review of the problem facing the new knowledgeacquired in the previous study.
Why do we use the active methodology?
Our evaluation system is dedicated to measuring the potential of each one according to the active teaching methodology. Thus, our scoring system is conceptual.
B = 3.00
C = 2.00
D = 1.00
F = 0.00
